I got a free run to Droknar's from a guy who was doing a test run, but ended up being completed by someone else in the group. It was fun. About half way through we all just started racing and had a good time.

I traded Eshekibeh's Scythe (worth=25k at the time) for a perfect Sundering Shadow Scythe Fortitude (worth=80k at the time). Probably unintended though.

A single "Good Monking" now and then is something I treasure a lot. You can't really ask for more.

I completely agree - it always makes my day when someone takes the time to thank their monks.

I met the nicest guy on GW a while ago, when the Shing Jea boardwalk was re-opened the first time. I was playing as my new ranger, not even lv20 at the time, and he was in Kurzick armour - I must have mentioned that I'd love that armour for my ranger, because about a fortnight later he whispered me, had his guild leader invite me to their hall, and then he and another of his guildies gave me all the amber I needed for my ranger's Kurzick armour. It may not add up to that much money, but he'd been AB-ing for a while to get it all together for me and I was really touched

I've had some very nice stuff done for me. Given to me, too.

My guild leader bought me a Malinon's shield and a Superior Absorbption when I first started my warrior. At the time, that was like 170K worth of stuff.

When I first got my ranger (my first character) to post-searing, a guy gave me a really cool looking bow when I asked where I could get a decent bow. Little did I know at the time, he gave me a very valuable bow. It's a Req 8 Mursaat Hornbow, max damage, etc. I still have it, customized. It ain't goin' nowhere.

This last Halloween, as Lion's Arch was dying for the mad king, there was a guy asking questions and giving out prizes. I answered one correctly, and he gave me a gold Mursaat Hornbow and 10K.

These are the kind of things that make this community great.

Yeah, I came across something similar during Wintersday in Kamadan - might even be the same person, coz the MO is the same.

It's really heartening to see people getting into the spirit of the festivals.

I also like it when I get into random, everyday conversations with people. One sometimes discovers really interesting people, people actually living near you, or someone who adds you to their friends list, just coz you had an nice conversation!

Back when you couldn't find certain greens. For me it was the staff Bzaar Staff(I think). I Would go for bout 1 hr or so farming that 1 boss with A/E. I could never get it, or he would never drop it. But one of my friends who showed me this farm spot. decided to come along with me for about an hour or so. and farm with me, to get this staff. He got it and gave it to me. He's actually gave me so much stuff back then, like lockpicks for giving him a armor combination that looked nice

. But unfortunately now he doesnt play much but i see him on Xbox LIVE some times:P

to someone, who i meet over 1year ago at Bergen Hot Spring...
he was a WaMo lvl 17, asked me to run his warrior to ToA...
i was Monk tryin 55hp for the 1st time after about 1.5month playin using my friend account (ofc real life friend)
after 3times try, i failed.. and in the end, i gave him 2k.. so he can find a "real ToA runner" from LA...

after that we become kind a "friend".. did some mission and stuff 2g8er

it will be to long, if write all our story, but he was the one who gave me 3 unused CD keys...

he said he bought for cheap from amazon uk... zomg!

even i still dont know your real name nor your motiv...but i still have fun and enjoy playin this game after 1yr playin

- Gave me a mini Charr Shaman helping complete both of the Prophecies "+15 Attribute Quests"... this occurred around a month after the first year minis were introduced.

- Gave me 20k gold when I needed it to get Legendary Skill Hunter via Signet of Capture.

- Gave me Tarnok's Longbow, Kormab's Prism and Murakai's Reaver for helping beat the final mission in Nightfall and Prophecies.

I'm sure I've had more than just these three, but they're the only ones that really meant something because I'm still friends with those who were nice enough to do these for me.

This thread is a couple years old and many pages long so i dont know if i've posted in it before but , when I read the title the first thing that popped into my head was when I was a newbie monk and this guy gave me a free newbie green. That was a huge deal to me at the time.

Plus I've met a few people in the course of the game who just hang out in newbie areas giving away free stuff and advice. I think that's really cool. I like to give them all my newbie greens and any really good starter gear I have at the time.
I get more inventory space, someone else who likes to help gets more stuff to help with, and the newbies get lots of cool stuff, everyone wins

On my first char I asked a Warrior for help with what runes & insigs to use on my Warr, he traded me each piece of his armour so I could take a screenshot of what he used then gave me 3 or 4 golds

When I had first started with my warrior after finishing with my Ranger, a kewl mate from my guild gave me Kanaxai's Axe and Sword and gave me a couple builds, as well as insignia and runes suggestion.

Hmm back when my Warrior didn't get deleted ( =[ ) I met some random chick and she helped me out with understanding with farming ssaki and taught me how to farm it and such, I told her I was saving up for 15k luxon armor, 2 days later shes PMs me and asks me hows it going and I say well ive made like 20k, minutes later we meet up and she gives me ALL the mats and gold for the 15k armor, she even let me keep the change =D *keep in mind this was when jadite was a lot more expensive*

A week after I first started playing someone I had chatted with told his friend I had been scammed by my first guild, which was true. this person gave me a chaos axe (not very good but still!) and taught me a few things about the game.

I also got 100k from a friend I'v been gaming with for over 5 years who got gw so we could game together. He doesnt play much and decided to help me out with some plat so I could save time on farming and buy some stuff I wanted for my warrior.

The only other nice thing someone has done for me is another friend whom I met in ascalon, He helped me with a few missions when I first started and didnt want anything in return. Hes a nice guy and I still chat with him sometimes when we are both online at the same time.

Although I'd rather get helped or info than an item any day.
